Welcome to UC Davis! We are so happy that you are joining the global community at UC Davis, and we can't wait to welcome you to our campus! Services for International Students and Scholars (SISS) within Global Affairs provides many support services for our first-year and transfer undergraduate international students including a peer-to-peer mentoring program.
The Global Ambassador Mentorship Program matches first-year and transfer international undergraduate students with a current undergraduate student peer mentor based on similar academic and social interests.
What can I expect as a mentee? As a mentee, you can ask your peer mentor about student life at UC Davis and the U.S. and about resources and fun events on campus. And having a peer mentor means that you have someone you know before you arrive on campus! We will have fun social events throughout the year, so join us! This is a great way to meet other students and make new friends! Our events are open to undergraduate students, so you can always bring a friend! Most of all, your mentor hopes to help you make the most of your first year here at UC Davis.
What is the time commitment? As a mentee, you get to decide how often you want to connect with your mentor. You can also let your mentor know your preferred messaging platform, so you can easily ask questions and stay connected. Mentors try to meet up with their mentees in person at least once a month, but you can decide what works best for you with your mentor.
